message from Chairman of RDC SUMMIT 2024
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh and greetings.
I am excited to welcome you to the RDC Summit 2024 with an expected participation of 1,100 delegates from more than 20 countries, to explore how we can work together to build more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient communities in this region.
In surah Ali-Imran verse 110, Allah SWT describes us as the best ummah (people):
“Ye are the best of peoples, evolved for mankind, enjoining what is right, forbidding what is wrong, and believing in Allah”.
This establishes the Muslim community as a leading force for positive change in the world. It calls for moral leadership, social reform, and unity of purpose grounded in faith. These principles are highly applicable to community development initiatives aimed at improving lives and society as a whole. It is with this in mind, that
we have carefully curated a programme covering a wide range of topics for discussing and planning of a better future for the ummah. We bring to you many leading experts in the 5 focus areas of the Summit through our 5 conferences, namely:
- RDC Biz – focusing on business opportunities
- RDC WEC – empowering women through various channels
- RDC Youth – promoting youth leadership
- RDC Education – developing education capacity
- RDC Humanitarian – enhancing humanitarian efforts across borders
By fostering meaningful dialogues and collaborative spirit, we aim to inspire and empower you to become agents of positive change in your respective communities. Your active participation at our Summit symbolises the fulfilling of a responsibility to give your best for the development of communities in the Asia Pacific region, based on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad PBUH. Indeed as mentioned in surah Al-Anbiya’ verse 107:
“And We have not sent you, [O Muhammad], except as a mercy to the worlds”.
Let us use this event as a catalyst for action, an opportunity to forge new partnerships, and a source of motivation as we continue our collective journey towards building a brighter future. When people come together, pool their knowledge and resources, and work collaboratively, they have the power to transform their local realities and contribute to the greater global good.
